| Am I doing this wrong?? I was always under the impression that you fed your puppy 4 small meals a day until they were 12 weeks then feed them 3 meals until they are 6 months old and then drop them to 2 meals. That is what I did with Marley and this is what Im doing with Kala.
but while talking to other dogs owners at puppy training who's pups are around the same age as kala and nearly all of them were giving weetabix for breakfast and 1 meal at tea time. They thought I was mad for feeding 3 times a day. Kala doesnt get weetabix she gets her daily amount of food divided up in 3 meals.
What do you think? | |

| i wouldnt feed weetabix as its got wheat and glutten in which is not good for dogs i feed 4 small meals till my pups are about 6months then drop to three meals and at a yr old maybe even two yr old i drop to two meals i still actually feed rostam and ki wen she was working 3 to 4 small meals as i dont want them eating too much in one meal, and if we were on call for some where i didnt want them to have a full tum.
i feed by eye so if i think my dogs need more feed i add a extra meal in for them as i dont want their meals too large as i think thats worse.
its up to the individual i guess but i have always had working dogs we have never ad pet dogs so thats how we have always done it hun xx

| I wouldnt consider changing her, it was the attitude of the others that bothered me as though I was doing wrong when I felt as though I was doing right!!
thanks all for your input at least I know they are wrong and Im doing right!!

| I feed sam three meals a day as well. I did the same with Molly & Tess when they were pups. If Kala is doing well then i shouldnt change things. | |
