| I'm just wondering how much you feed your dogs Do you go by the recommendations? I have changed Marley over to Arden Grange as you know and I have always gone by the recommended amounts on the bag. On Royal canin I wasted more food that he ate as he didnt eat half of what was recommended on there but with Arden Grange he is eating 2 meals a day and clearing his bowl. The recommended for his weight is 417gms and yes I weigh it!! I give him 200gms in the morning and 220 at night but he still seems hungry.......or is it just being greedy cos he actually likes it!! | |

| I always fed raw and dry so I've never measured the amounts they get. I started off as pups giving them what I thought they would probably need and if they got porky, I cut it, a bit thin, I added more. I would let him eat what he wants if his weight is good and hes not fat or thin. If he puts weight on with more, cut it down. You could always soak it too, apparently it fills them up more | |

| I agree Sandra you have to use your eye. Every dog is different some are finer boned . Most on recomended dry food are usually over weight because people follow the amounts on a packet. I have always fed raw so the thought of adding water to a dry food would worry me cause of the amount it swells and the thought of bloat. | |

| Weight wise he is looking good at the moment, I'll up it a little and see how he goes, just strange how on different foods its different weights. Its good to see him eating so well though! | |

- he could be burning off more if he's getting plenty of excercise judes if so i would up his food amounts
He gets a good run along the beach every day, he's out for at least an hour and a half. Neil our vet has always said that he wants us to keep Marley around the 40kg mark but he is much bigger boned than his big bro Jez who is 40kgs. I think the exercise does keep his weight down I'll try him on 500gms and if he puts too much on I'll cut him back down again. I have never had the problem before thats why i have never asked as I have always wasted more than he's eaten in the past!! | |

| i've got my 3 all on raw food now, the woman that lives close to me breeds german sheps http://www.freewebs.com/krisannriogsds well she is getting my food from her suppliers and i pick it up from her :san12: they are all loving it too.. shady has been on raw since we got her and munches through the chicken peices quicker than tilly and bailey, and with 3 of them to feed its a lot cheaper to do a raw diet. | |
