Was saying just the other day how I wasn't sure when, how, or if I'd have the strength to make the decision to have him put to sleep. Well, I guess he took that responsibility from my shoulders.

Like, Sandra said - if only we take away your pain.. When I lost my first dog, we didn't get over his death for weeks. Then when I came to terms with his death, I looked thru' his pictures - thinking how lucky I was to have him....

I always believe that although, we can not see them - they are there...

Agree Jan, this is so very sad, I think we have all been in tears for Linda and Max, the love and the bond between them is so deep.

So Max was cremated at 3pm today. The cemetary I took him to was wonderful. They laid him out beautifully in a comfy basket, with warm blankets, and placed flowers around. He looked so peaceful. The room was lovely, and I was allowed to sit with him as long as I wanted to say my final goodbyes. I have time to chose a verse/few words to put in their book of rememberance for him.

I will be collecting his ashes tomorrow. At the moment the plan is to scatter his ashes over the park he loved so much, next tuesday, when my 2 sons can both be here, and we can all say a few words for this amazing boy who we love so much. I am also having some of his ashes placed inside a silver heart on a chain, so I can keep him close to me always.

This has been a tough day... so very hard to let him go!
