| How long does it normally take!?!? I think we are doing it right..... we have the puppy pads down in the kitchen, when he starts sniffing we put him on the pad and then say good wee wee.... he dosn't do anything... we've stood there 1/2 an hr before now, then we let him out of the kitchen and he peeesss!! When we catch him we pick him up and put him on the mat, when he does pee on the mat we give lots of prasie and a treat....... but he's really not getting it!!! We've left wee on the mat so the smell is there and scrub the carpet when he has an accident.... Dont even ask about pooing!! Any tips?????? | |

| i was lucky with fred.... he got it straight away.... we had no accidents unless he was poorly..
have you tried taking him out every hour whether he needs a wee or not then really praise him out in the garden....
when fred used to have a wee i would say ''wee wee'' whilst he was weeing... after a few wee's he would wee automatically when i said this to him....
fred also slept upstairs with me so i would hear his cries for the toilet.... | |

| another one you could try is to write down the time it is that he goes to the toilet, if the times are recurring..... then at these times each day take him out...swee if this method works | |

| I wouldn't use the mat I think it can add to confusion, as they have to then re-learn to go from the mat to going outside, unless of course he needs to use the mat all his life, depending on your situation. I would take him out first thing in the morning then every half hour especially after waking, meals, whilst playing. You will spend more time outside than in but honestly, it will be well worth it, I think generally they want to be clean, it's just confusing for them as they tend to get the feeling to wee, poo and oops it's out, carry on the praising and treats that's all good stuff, the penny will drop Good luck, it's hard work but very worth it | |

| with rea , she goes when waking up and about 15 mins after food, like with all things some take longer than others, now the pups are going for their second vaccination in a couple of weeks you can take him a little walk and that may get him going , | |
