Scary stuff ~

I was walking home with the dogs today when a pick up truck pulled up beside me with 3 men in it with an Irish accent...

The one driving was asking me questions about my dogs and saying how nice they were, they paid particular attention to bella ...

They then asked me if me dogs would protect me I of course said yes they would....particularly my male shep and nodded towards Fred! ...

With that they smiled and drove off!!! All the way home I was scanning the roads for the pick up

Bloody hell thats scarey bet you couldnt get home quick enough

That would be the one time id be pleased with Mickey because if that happened to me he would more than likely growl at them Hes very protective and not keen on men when i walk him alone

I'm now pooping my pants as someone has pointed out that maybe I should change my route tomorrow as they may be back

I shall however be taking a weapon ... And this time I will have Fred on the outside and keep bella on by the hedge!!...

It's very worrying ..and very annoying that you can't walk your dog AND feel safe!!!.... Had they caught me on the way to the walk, Fred would have kicked off... But think he was too knackered on the way home to even look at them lol!!!!

Might be a good idea to change route hun you had the advantage of knowing Fred was pooped they didn't either way make sure you keep your eyes peeled hun do you think it might be worth bringing it to the attention of police so they could maybe put some community support officers about? Just a thought

A dog was taken in Allenton on Sunday ..which isn't very far from here... I changed route today and made sure the people I meet came to me instead of the other way round

I was considering telling the police, but they may just say I'm over reacting

It is horrid you cannot relax anymore on a nice dog walk, so many weird people about about, keep alert Shell and everyone else, shame we have to, pepper spray should be legal for women to carry

I had to do an early walk this morning in the mist ... But I carried a weapon not an illegal one

But it would hurt someone all the same

Make sure you carry something

Cant believe someone would be stupid enough to try steal a german shepherd off an owner but there are some strange horrible people about Mind you i suppose because they are a popular breed they could breed them easily and sell the pups

i have a lonely walk into whitley bay at 6.10am every morning, its not very often i see anyone on my journey and even though its on the main road I see few cars. Im ok on the journey its only 15 mins but one day last week there was a bloke walking behind me........I didnt like that one little bit I was so happy when he crossed over the road and went a different way. My weapon is my big bag which has my bottled water and lunch and all my other junk in it one swing of that is enough to knock anyone out lol!!!

If i had to do that walk id carry something like a metal nail file in my hand every morning just incase

Its strange that would bother me but walking alone in the woods with just the dogs im fine about

It's awful isn't it when you have to make you're safe just to take a walk ... You're very brave Jude ...I would be the same as Bren, I would have a weapon n my hand lol!

Those filthy gypos really knocked my confidence for a few days ... But I can't let them win ...shall definately be more vigilant from now on though

Its terrible that we feel like this when out walking just be very carefull!! and keep eyes n ears peeled and weapon to hand....

I would walk round the flat area no problem any time till about a year n half ago guy kept following me wasnt nice, I did tell the local police man and he said there had been a few complaints about someone in the area.

Was out walking Storm this morning about 6.30ish and then Dusk after was lighter when i done Dusk, its terrible you cant go for a walk without having to have your witts about you.

Do you have an attack alarm Jude? It is frightening so early in the morning and when it's dark, you don't know who is lurking around.

I had some gypos stop me when I was with the dogs ... They were paying particular interest in bella .. They asked me all sorts of questions including would they protect me... Then the next day I found out a pup was pinched locally by Irish speaking people

I honestly think this country has gone s**t, no whete is really safe anymore
