| Trouble is horses cannot tolerate an electric shock to the same extent as we can & this could explain why the people in the paddock were unaffected | |

Yes Suze, I heard that too. When they touched the horses headcollars I think.
Heard today that the Electricty Board have found a cable running under the paddock. It must have been horrendous for all concerned. | |

| Bit more info now. Apparently the horses who died had steel plates on which is unusual. Most have aluminium I think these days. The further the current can travel the greater the shock so the current travels up two legs and through the body to the other two. Bad news! A human can withstand a much greater shock than a horse. In addition to that, TB horses aren't that strong these days due to breeding policies and strenuous training at an early age. The cable was an old one which they think was disturbed during some recent irrigation work. What a mess! | |
