| How would you go about introducing pups to dogs, thinking about my own here. Axle is a bit agressive to the pups at times remember he will not be 2 till may. HE HAS SEEN THE PUPS DAILY but when we have let the pups out with there mother (his as well)we have kept him on a lead he is ok for a while but gets a bit agressive towards pups after a while , even in his kennel the pups are next to him he growls at them when hes eating if they come up beside him although in other kennel , he has no problem with his mother eating next to him, what would you suggest , i will speak to our trainer on thursday as he is happy with traveling in the van | |

| Seems to me that he's just doing what comes natural in dog language, keeping the pups in their place and teaching them not to go near his food, as any adult would do until the pups respect him, he has respect for mum as the is top dog to him, pups that are over energetic will normaly be put into place after a bit, most of the time it's just a lot of noise and grabbing | |

| yea agree wth helan there hun i would maybe not keep him on lead either as you dont want the pups to be hurt you may be a lil worried and he may pick up on that i would put a short leash on him for your peace of mind so you can grab him if need be.
he is just teaching them how to behave but you dont want it to get further so just correct any OTT behaviour growling and such should be fine hun as long as hes not nasty with it
by agressive wat do you mean do he have a real go or is he just typical shep and all noise lol like helan said he respects him mum but the pups are young and hes trying to teach them too i would also introduce him to the pups after they have had a feed and play so they are a lil more subdued and not in his face as much and the same with him get rid of some exess energy with a run round and play this is how i do it with my pups or friends meeting mine i will also step in on both sides if i think one or the other is getting too rough or in your face just tp re-enforce my status also x | |

| maybe as well as to not overwhelm him just introduce a couple at a time and then build up with each time? | |

| thanks all Ok today, Xena opened back door (wasn't locked) and pups got out and they were all playing in the snow together, we kept an eye on Axle from a distance and he was fine but brought pups back in after 10mins so he did not get to annoyed with them chasing him about. We have to lock all doors including patio doors now .As Axle has learned how to get latch open and pushes door (sliding door) open enough for his mother to open it with her nose | |

| Hi kenny,i didnt have too much problems with summers last litter, like axle shadow saw the pups daily albiet from a safe distance but when it came to the time to let them run around he did start to growl occasionally. After watching him i realised that he was kinda scared of them cos they would all rush towards him at once and he didnt know how to handle it.When i let them out into the garden it wasnt a problem as shadow had plenty of room to just move away from them and gradually he started to play with them and now shadow and indie are best friends. | |
