| I'm sitting here and my heart is breaking. Ed is working a 12 hour shift today and wont be in until 8ish, I usually take Marley out around 5pm but I had said to Ed this morning that I would take him out at 4.15 to 4.30ish so it wasnt pitch dark and hopefully no fireworks til later. he let me put his dogmatic and lead on and I managed to get him out the front door but he sat on the drive and refused to move when I tried to get him to walk his whole body started to shake and he just wanted to come back into the house, I stood for 5 mins but he was getting more distressed so I brought him back in and took him out into the back garden. he has never peed in the garden since he was a pup and normally wont do anything but he has had a pee out there tonight and went straight under the table afterwards. Poor lad is totally traumatised I hate bloody fireworks and we are probably in for a whole weekend of them. Apart from sedation I have tried everything I possibly can, its cost a fortune but I would pay anything to stop my poor big lad from being like this I honestly dont know how long its going to take me to coax him out of the house again at night. I just want to sit and cry but I know that wont be good for Marley | |

| Poor boys I know what you're going through... Xsara is terrified of them too, they've been going off here for days! Last night she squeazed herself through the gap on the banistar... flew upstairs and lept on my bed as if her life depended on it, my whole bed was shaking she was trembling that much Ben couldn't care less about them but he's getting worried about his wee sis, he keeps going upto her and gives her a kiss as if he's trying to say" tis ok wee sis, don't be scared" Breaks my heart too, i have bought her the sound cd but she knows it's not the real deal... she sits and watches my pc moniter and cocks her head listening to it Give the poor lads huggies from me and Xsara | |

| Poor furry ones . Molly is the same she hates them and wont go outside when they are going off. We usually all sit in the lounge and turn the tv up, molly will the curl up on settee and go to sleep then. However, if we dont have any loud distraction on she gets very stressed. Tess & Sam arent bothered about them at all. | |

| hun i know you have prob tried everything and know what your doing but are you showing any signs of stress yourself? as any signs you show will rub off on marley obviously, if he was my dog and it sounds harsh as hell i would have carried on the walk as he learned if he shows distressed behaviour he gets what he wants his comfort zone back. i would have carried on walking *yes prob dragging the dog* but he would have picked up on your calm energy and leadership and trust me he would have calmed down and followed. i wouldnt try and pander to him either he is scared yes but we humans genrally create this for them, im not saying you have done this too him hun dont get me wrong, but you being upset for him and angry at ppl will effect him also. get him doing a scenting game early on as this will engage his brain and send him into a calm state of mind as hes acting like a dog do this early b4 the fireworks go off and get him tierd. i would also keep trying to walk him if he was mine. None of mine are effected by the fireworks as any signs of distress early on in the dogs life with us isnt pandered to in anyway we get up and work the dog. noise sensativity is also known to be genetic unfortunatly but it doesnt mean it cant be solved. i hope my post doesnt offend as im not saying you are doing wrong just saying what i would do hun. i know it ust be awful to see him like that tho | |

| your post hasnt offended at all Farah but just like to say had I been able to drag him off the drive then we would have carried on with the walk but I really couldnt get him to budge even with his halti he's a very strong lad and bloody headstrong too I couldnt get him to stand nevermind walk!!
I try to ignore him when he's stressing as I know it can make him worse if he goes under the table or in his crate I leave him, it breaks my heart to see him like that but I try not to let him see or sense that. I have tried everything with him Farah, such as loud tv and music, distracting him with his favourite toys etc Eds just taken him out and to be honest if you see the way he's had to drag him down the street I wouldnt be surprised if someone reports us to the rspca it looks terrible. | |

| Awww sorry to hear they are not coping well with the fireworks. Give them all from me. I was very impressed with Viva the last 2 nights, the stuff i got from PAH seems to work well with her. She is not scared or afraid of the fireworks, she just barks and growls at them and gets herself kinda fired up but last night she was really good, there was a bit of barking but they were at the fireworks from the house 2 doors down so they were extremely loud. I should have stayed at my mums with her as its so far from anything, hardly any go off round there, but she was very good at chris's im very impressed with her. | |
