| I have a prob with Zeus when i take him training he's fine no pulling as soon as he gets outside its like wow a steam train, I do all the turning around standing still calling him to me and he will come to me or follow for 2/3 steps then steaming ahead again i can do this for ages and get no where he is just in such a rush and wants to see everything after losing Waya i take the 2 boys out over the fields in morning for off lead runs he comes back when i get hold of Teddy and walk away from him unless he sees another dog or something then hes gone he says hello then comes back to me. But as you all know some dogs are not friendly luck has had it i call him mostly before he sees what i see and get him back but at training he's off lead with all the other dogs and dont bother, He's not toy or food driven so attention is'nt there any ideas on how i can get this boy to heal and respond to me? | |

| i know exactly how you feel eileen, fred used to be the same.... youre doing it all right, the only other thing you need is perseverance lol... just keep at it, it will eventually click one day..... i found doing the turn arounds a few times before we left our street helped.... i even did them if they werent needed, just to keep fred on his toes..... he will eventually get the message that if he rushes he gets nowhere... some days we didnt make it past the end of the street... he was still tired though, it was mental work for him.... failing this, if its real hard work, maybe a head collar/halti might help for now whilst your training him .... as for his recall... maybe back to basics with a long line... hope this helps a little | |
