Subject: marley and kalas Loch Ness hols day 5 Thu Sep 13, 2012 10:31 am
Yesterday was a very long day 12 hours all told thats why I didnt upload any pics last night. kala was as good as gold and Marley was a pain in the arse!!!
We looked at the forecast and yesterday was going to be the best day for our trip to the Isle of Skye its going to turn very cold windy and rain for the next few days.......and probably all next week too but hey you dont come to Scotland for the weather!
We came out of the cottage and were greeted by a beautiful rainbow
With my map at the ready we set off
we knew it was a 2.5 hr journey from The Cottage to skye and marley paced all the was barked cried and howled, kala just lay on her bed occassionally sitting up to see where she was
Skye bridge
the view the other way
The little village where we stopped and had a coffee just over the bridge
We stopped her to have a rest and give the dogs a break
then it was on our way again on the Tattie bogal trail
all along the route there were these really scarey scarecrows tied to fences we should have stopped to take some pics but it was a single track road and marley was being a pain!!
this was our next destination........It would have been rude not to stop!!
Kala had floppy ear as there was a wasp hovering around
Heres a few more views from around the Beautiful Isle of Skye
then it was back over the bridge and our next stop Eilean Donan castle
we tried to get a shot with Marley and kala and the castle in the background but Marley was stressing and there were too many flaming tourists about!! Kala on the otherhand was eyeing up the water!!
a couple of views on the way home
our goodies from talisker!
While on Skye we found the cottage that we wanted to book for these two weeks but one of the weeks was booked. Im pleased to say it was booked The cottage is amazing and the views out of this world but it would have been no holiday for Marley and Kala as the beach part is peaty bog and there was no enclosed Garden. All the beaches we saw on skye were like that. We didnt have time to go up the top part where I think the Sandy beaches are but at least it has made us realise for us Skye is no good for the dogs,
Today we are just chilling ( probably literally!!) on the beach and let the dogs play!

As for stressing whilst out and about ...if you find a cure ....please let me know lol!

can you send me details of the crate please hun if it would help marley it would be great. It really spoils days out and although we dont let it stop us it cant be good for marley. Its the journey that Stresses him Shelley usually once we get walking out and about he calms down but yesterday was a lot of travelling and by the time we got to the castle he and I had had enough and we still had 2 hours to get back. If he travelled like kala it would be no bother.
Im pleased you are liking the updates and pics I was worried I might be boring everyone! I prefer doing it this way than putting them all on when I get back home!
these were all just my snaps obviously apart fron the ones im on which Ed has taken no doubt Eds will be tons better

This is what we have for Fred and bella.... We got the large one for Fred, we didn't want one where he could stand up and jump about, there is enough room for him to lie down and get comfy ...we keep the sides fastened down so he can't see out and *toiches wood* has worked a treat, we don't know why we didn't get one sooner it was only a matter of time before he caused my OH to have a crash and what othe people must of thought looking in, I've no idea
No your updates are not boring Hun .. I'm loving them

We thought the same about Fred Bren ...he's stressy while we're away and we have to organise trips around him, choose not so crowded times and places ....after our last holiday my OH threatened to put him in kennels .... When we got to the caravan site we got the dogs out and tied them up while we manoeuvred the caravan and sorted it all out....he did nothing but scream cry yap whine growl bark ....it was embarrassing, we ended up putting hm back in his crate and shutting the car boot ....
