Thank you all so much for your kind words.....

So Max has eaten a little and been a bit more comfortable since the vet drained the fluid from his stomach, unfortunately I think it's beginning to build up again! I have lay him a blanket by the fire but he's prefering to lie in unusual spots like behind the sofa. He's still sleeping a lot, but getting extra cuddles and love. My eldest son visits tuesdays so will be keeping him with us until then, so he can see him (they grew up together!). Then will be making am appointment with the vet for Wednesday and discussing what's best for him. Here he is looking very sorry for himself.....

No real change today. Doesn't appear to be in any pain, and just seems to be sleeping most of the time.

Need to make a decision as to what we're gonna do this week. Don't want to let him go, but I can't see it getting any better and it's such a poor quality of life for him, yet he's not in any pain!

Oh god.... I'm really struggling. Don't know whether to leave it another week or so, or what? Just don't know what to do!

and in the end, SHE told me when she'd had enough,

totally agree with what karenliver says..... i was the same with my dog boss for over a week, i kept begging him to tell me what to do, in the end he let me know he had had enough, and sort of made the decision for me, doesnt make it any easier though :love:
