do u get nervous when u see other dogs walkin towards u or anythin he cud b pickin up on this (if ur holdin him back) so he barks i wonder if u walk confidently and dont hold him back will this help?

its not that nix,i dont think, no matter how calm i am or how slack i try to keep the lead, hes still the same.... hes not like it with every dog, just random dogs,thats why its confusing... i bricked it when i walked into the vets and there was dogs in close proximity, but he was absolutely fine, he didnt pick up on that!

i think it could also be the type of dog maybe hun if hes made to feel threatend maybe? still not what you want but your doing a great job and im sure it will fall in to place with the odd dogs too x

im sure it will faz, he still young ... its just annoying lol... it feels like one step forward two steps back sometimes.... i was half way through saying to the woman today when fred was eventually sifing her dog ''look see, hes fine now'' then for no reason fred started barking madly ... it was very embarrasing...

the old woman did piss me off though, she was asking loads of questions like she was going to tell me the answers but fookin didnt lol....

there was another woman there who had a dog she couldnt let off lead because it was dog agressive!.. she was lovely about fred, very non judgemental!!....

hmmm yea i think you going back to training for the social aspect *for fred lol*may help too and teaching him to ignore all other things but that again comes with time

i tell ya im the same with kiera shes a right bitch at times and very embaressing lol she can be very gobby dont worry wat others think tho hun just remamber how far you have come

Xena used to do that at OB shelley she would do her sit stays or downs in a group with almost any other dog except another gsd bitch, they never seen eye to eye with each other and went through puppy to intermed classes together,we always had to sit at opposite ends of hall

thinking about it,the majority of dogs he has a problem with are small black ones, but not all the time, some days he will bark at a chihuahua lol....

i can totally control fred when hes like this, thats not an issue, its the look on the other peoples faces that piss me off.. proper doggy people who understand dogs are okay.

i guess time will tell with him...

Weird isnt it? Jazz hated BCs but then he was attacked by one as a pup so I could understand that.

Keira is a pain when on lead but fine when off lead I know its excitement with her she just wants off lead to play but it looks bad when people see a GSD pulling barking and trying to wriggle out of their halti :2431: I have found she has been great at dog trainer tho im sure the trainers thought i was making it up when i told them what she is normally like Its gonna be interesting next week when we start the new group with new dogs to meet

Another thing we have noticed is Keira is better at walking to heel when off lead She will walk to heel if she has her halti on but wont if just has collar on

Xena hates yorkies ,we had one over back at last houe and girl was expecting she moved and sold house to parents but left her yorkie and her parents had one ,the yorkies did listen to them for anything and as soon as they were out they ran to back fence barking and winding up xena, xena ate through fence twice to try and get to them and when ever she hears a yorkie barking now she goes daft to try find it

i sometimes wonder if the yappy dogs over the other side of the fence have anything to do with it... they wind fred up by yapping at him!..

i agree with you bren... if it was a smaller freindlier looking dog doing it, nothing would be said, but because of the breed people jump to conclusions
