As you know Marley has fallen into the EPI (Exocrine Pancreatic Insufficiency) sitting at the top of the EPI range at the moment to go along with his SIBO (small intestine bacterial overgrowth) and Vitamin B12 Deficiency. He started on His Enzyme supplements last week and there has been a slight improvement.

I came across this forum last week

http://www.epi4dogs.com/

Its a US forum but has a lot of UK members. They have been very welcoming and so helpful with advice and support. Ive leaned such a lot in a week about EPI and SIBO. On their advice im changing Marley to a grain free food as Grains in foods can aggrevate SIBO im just waiting for it coming.

I just thought I would post this for anyone who's dog develops EPI ( hopefully not) or any guest who may come on looking for advice

This link looks very informative and i think every little helps with understanding what you are dealing with Jude.

I really hope that Marley keeps responding to the supplements EPI 756370 EPI 805515 . What food will you be trying him on Jude?

This is the one a member pmed me and advised. Her dog now takes no medication for SIBO or had anal gland problems since being on this food so EPI 43464 that it helps Marley

Burns food has also been mentioned EPI 910222

I posted this a long time ago on my website.

http://www.dogfoodanalysis.com/dog-food-index-p.html ( very interesting). On this site you can find all informations about every dogfood and if it is good etc. A very good link.

My Kee gets only meat ( B.A.R.F ) for food. A little bit food withoud cereals/grain/corn. Sorry, i don't know the right word.

I give him this ( the 3 first links) and fresh meat.

- http://www.terracanis.de/shop/ ( sorry german, but maybe there is an english site?)

EPI 300576 I cant see skinners on the list EPI 583730

Im definately going to study this as im in the process of changing which dry food to use EPI 910222
My two mostly get RAW but i do mix some dry in with it EPI 910222
A few times a week i give dry mixed with sardines or tuna in oil EPI 910222
I want to have a dry food alternative to the RAW EPI 910222
I did have them on JWB Lamb and rice but theyve gone off it now EPI 910222 I have been told by a few sources that the recipe has been changed recently which might be why they arent keen anymore EPI 583730
Ive tried most dry foods but none have suited EPI 583730 Keira used to have AG but Mickey goes loopy when he has that EPI 658515 EPI 482195

Update is on changing marleys food I cant believe the difference for the first time in 16 months marley is having brown solid poos instead of the bright yellow/orange cowpats and he has stopped his continuous scratching! Ive printed off the info for Neil as i honestly now believe with all the advice i have gained from the EPI forum that a dog with EPI should be on a grain wheat and cereal free food. Im crossing everything that this continues EPI 43464 EPI 43464

Thanks for this Jude, very interesting, as you know, Bryn suffers terrible with similar issues, I took him off Science as after an initial good period he was back to his old cow like poo, he is on all RAW now and only had one bad day when I felt sorry for him, (as the girls get our left overs and he never does) I gave him a tiny amount from our dinner and he suffered, poor boy, otherwise he has been great. Will look more into this thanks.

So glad Marley is pooing normal, it really is horrible to see them suffer EPI 805515 must be a great relief getting this info Jude.
