| today was very dangerous .. luckily i caught ollie, but had he got to the horse, we could have been telling a very different story! .... it wasnt as if he hadnt had a decent walk... we'd been walking on the beach and through the woodlands for the best part of 3 hours! so he should have been more responsive .... but noooooo lol he doesnt even follow my lot back when theyre shouted he stands a good distance away watching if you go towards him, he legs it he will do recall on a long lead perfectly fine, you think you've mastered it and got it 100% ... then when he's offline ... its a no no | |

| I really dont have much idea but you could try walking ollie on his own so its just you and him, keep him on a long line, keep practising recalls, and try make your time together really really fun, with treats and a ball as reward and lots and lots of praise? My dad used to have a collie that had selected hearing & was very naughty | |

| Have you tried a well enclosed field with no distraction initially and just having fun both of you with a recall and plenty of fuss, what about a clicker or whistle. Can't say I've ever tried em myself but I just make tonnes of noise and sound excited and run the opposite way. Caius is doing well with his recall at the mo but I still sometimes worry will he or wont he . Sorry I cant be much help but I hope you finds something that works for you both soon | |

| I know the feeling but it always gave me confidence to be stronger with Caius when I saw others doing it I'm a basics sort of person if they can do it you surely can keep at it it'll all be worth it in the end | |

| STorm can be a bit tempramental with her recalls if she sees something and she goes its a nightmare to get her attention but when i run the other way she comes but i have to admit they come for the liver cake and some other treats even hot dogs seems to work with mine but they are food orientated or their special toy. Hope it all works out for you!! | |

| does he like squeaky toys , if so i would get one thats very loud , take away his other toys at home just play with the noisy one , make loads of fuss if he comes back to you , then when out for a walk i would take a ball but also have his squeaky toy in my pocket and if he don't come back straight away, start throwing the toy in the air squeaking it and just pretend you are having a whale of a time playing with his favourite toy, just my opinion | |

| Ive battled with Vivas recall since i got her and i still dont let her off lead. Like you said with Ollie, she does it 100% perfect on the long lead. Tbh i dont think she will ever be trust worthy off lead, so i dont bother letting her off anymore. One thing may be to try going right back to basics, back on to the long lead and start again as if you were teaching him it for the first time. | |
