| we are going to London on Friday, till Sunday. I have booked a visit to the Ice bar on Friday,http://www.belowzerolondon.com/ folloewed by Mama Mia.
Saturday we are going to Madam Tussauds, not planned anything for Saturday night. (any suggestions?)
On Sunday we are doing a tour of London bridge + London tombs.
Posh hotel with pool and Jacuzzi... can't wait, just hope this bloody asthma doesn't put the mockers on everything --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I was originally born in London, Clapham Common (South side of the Thames) but moved up to Fife when I was 13 as my Mum and Dad came from there. Madam Tussauds is very, very good especially the Chamber of Horrors....a bit on the pricey side now but worth it! Planetarium is right next door and quite an experience too. If you like Museums, try the Natural History or the V&A across the road. For Saturday night, I would suggest Soho! If you haven't been before then its worth the trip. Go first to Nelsons column, walk upto Eros (Piccadily) there you will see Dury Lane and all the Theatres, then walk upto Soho. Nothing like seeing all the weird and wonderful people. Great eating places too. Hope you have a wonderful and fun time. Carolyne xx |

| I,m back, It was the most miserable weekend ever... managed to get to the Ice Bar and Mama Mia on the Friday we arrived, they where great but I wasn't well and didn't enjoy them as much as I should have done.
London was chocca and the tubes were a nightmare.
Went out on Saturday but had to go back to the hotel, I was in bed for 7pm.
I just couldn't handle the tubes and the crush of people and my asthma just got worse and worse, just wanted to get the train home, which we did on Sunday at 4pm.
Unfortunately my asthma detoriated on the train, the staff were great and found me a plug for my nebulizer but it didn,t work.... then there was a delay on the line and I just lost the plot, full panic mode, I really thought I would never get off the train, Ste was just frozen and a lovely couple were trying to help.
the virgin staff rung Stafford station and an ambulance was waiting for us there, I don,t really remember much, I was just in full panick mode, couldn't breath, couldnt sit while they tried to treat me, eventually 2 paramedics managed to calm me down a little, I had a nebulizer and something pumped into my arm.
I was still panicking in the ambulance, couldn't have a seat belt or couldn't sit down.
a young female porter followed us to the hospital with all our things, she was lovely.
the staff at stafford hospital were very efficient, within an hour I had been given various drugs and had eventually been able to breath, I didn't have a chest infection, just asthma, it was the worst and most scared I have ever been...
On the ward the staff were brilliant and took great care that I was ok during the night and given a neb at regular intervals, it is not a state of the art brand new hospital like Whiston where I was last time, but the staff were brilliant, friendly, attentative and efficient.
the porter lady left Ste her Number , to call if he needed help, I insisted he went home to see to the animals ect, once he knew I was stable, he rang her, she had just come off duty, she went back to the hospital, picked him up and got him on the next train, first class free of charge. we will be writing to Virgin to say thanks to them and to tell them about their wonderful empolyee.
I got home tonight, Ste came back for me, I will have to stay in bed for a few days and keep using my nebulizer every 4 hours and I have to take the dreaded steroids again...
Anyway, I,m much better, but this has been a wake up call, I have an apptointment with the asthma nurse and I want my meds reviewing. I had this bloody asthma under control and it seems to be running away with me again, so it need sorting.
Its soooo put me off ever going to London again, I,ll stick to wide open places
