| Crash couple’s delight as lost dogs returned
Tuesday 28th September 2010, 11:30AM BST. A delighted couple have been reunited with the dogs they thought they had lost forever after their pets bolted following a crash on the M6 in the Black Country.Steve and Carla Kenyon, who appealed for help in finding their beloved pets in Saturday’s Express & Star, today said a big thank-you to readers. Both animals were found in different locations near Junction 10 for Walsall and Wolverhampton over the weekend. Bloxwich-born Mr Kenyon, aged 35, said: “We were bombarded with suggestions from readers.“It was heart-warming how helpful and generous people were.”The couple, returning home to Powys after a holiday in the West Country, escaped with minor injuries in an accident near the northbound sliproad last Thursday. But their terrified pets, a King Charles spaniel called Roxy and a husky-cross puppy Jacob, fled though an open window in the overturned Mitsubishi Shogun, which was pulling a caravan when it was hit from behind.Four-year-old Roxy was found on Saturday by Keith Skitt of Kent Road, Bentley, less than a mile from the M6. They contacted the Kenyons after finding their number on a collar tag.Jacob, just 12 weeks old, was spotted in a field off the junction by security guard Ahmeden Mahamoud on Sunday morning.Mr Kenyon, an insurance agent, who returned to look for the dogs in torrential rain and thunderstorms, said he was extremely grateful to everyone who helped. “We now have our little family back together which is more than we could have hoped for,” he said today.
