| Constantly hyped up????????? Mickey is so hyped up all the time i sometimes wonder if hes got something wrong with him Hes never still and even when he sleeps its only for a short time Hes always chasing stuff flies bees shadows the cat keira anything It drives me nuts especially the cat situation Hes getting more aggressive when play fighting with Keira aswell getting quite nasty at times Shes got a split lip atm that we think he caused He now growls and snaps in defiance if you stop him from chasing the cat its becoming a problem Hes constantly panting and alert never seeming to relax even after hes just been out on a long walk He sleeps downstairs in the hall and you can hear him pacing about in the middle of the night His nose is straight up Keiras back end when shes been out for a wee im wondering if his hormones are kicking in now hes 2 I can see his nuts being snipped soon at this rate Anyone had this kind of behaviour Also has anyone had a dog with a really high prey drive around cats My cat is stupid and i can see her getting hurt if she carrys on the way she does around Mickey | |

| rea and gemma are on the go all the time, what food do you feed low protein is suppose to slow a dog down, have you tried them plug in things that are suppose to help your dog relax think the are called daf, can't help about the cat don't own one, maybe with the fighting you could try a whistle and treat , maybe that might work with the cats too, | |

| Welcome to my world .....are you sure Mickey isnt called Marley and sorry Bren but Marley has had the snip!!!! Marleys ears are like radar constantly listening when he is asleep, well when he has his eyes closed, he plays rough with Kala but she puts him in his place when she has had enough, we dont have a cat but the neighbours have and I dont know how our windows are still in, he chases and eats flies wasps bees etc he detests out new neihjbours but the stupid people have put their dustbin right beside our bay window.........the only time Marley is good is through the night and out on walks!!! when he is having one of his wicked evenins barking at everything and everybody i put him on his lead in the house, strangely enough it settles him down! | |

| Yes Mickey and Marley could be twins Keira takes so much then usually puts him in his place She is so serious and loves to play fight but he always pushes it too far Mickey also lunges at windows when he sees other animals or the cat I was thinking of trying one of the plug ins theyre usually meant to calm dogs down on bonfire night Walking him by the house is a nightmare because there are so many dog owners who have their dogs offlead as soon as Mickey sees another dog he kicks off Walking Keira is a pleasure so nice and relaxing i know if we meet another dog she will be friendly Walking Mickey is a nightmare not a pleasure at all Heres a video of Mickey spotting Mojo in the garden https://s293.photobucket.com/albums/mm50/VidexKorrie/?action=view¤t=MOV046.flv | |

| ive just watched your video with tia,and she has just said.... ''that sounds like fred when he sees cats'' :san12: so youre not alone bren the good thing with fred is that he calms down as soon as i tell him too.... its just a nuisance having to tell him, you'd think he would learn :rolls eyes: : fred would still pounce on bullet the cat if i didnt watch him, the poor cat wont even come into his own back garden cos fred will go mental :2431: just keep on top of him, keep reprimanding him when he does something wrong, he may eventually get the message lol.... i had a dap collar for fred.... it made no difference at all .... it could just be his age hun, hes still a pup albeit a very large pup fred drives me crackers in the garden, he rarely settles....hes up and down patrolling the permimeters looking for intruders lol...or chasing flies just generally causing chaos... i sometimes have to chain him up just so he will lie down and settle :rolls eyes: : ... freds behaviour did calm down a bit when i changed him to tripe and minced chicken ,ive also recently changed his complete meal to arden grange keep pn top of him and keep reminding him whos boss | |

Have been there done that but its impossible to keep him on lead all the time which is what we would have to do The trainer told us to try that route Hes constantly looking for something to chase his preference being the cat We even have to spell the cats name when talking about her so he doesnt realise Its like mission impossible trying to get the cat in at night without Mickey waking my hubby up He barks and growls as soon as i get up to go to bed Ive even started leaving mojo out at night so i dont have to go thru this every night He takes absolutely no notice other than to give me a defiant growl when i check him Told you hes a little swine who doesnt like you stopping him doing what he wants I had a right game this morning at about 5am the cat woke me up wanting out so that meant i had to go downstairs open the dog gate and put the dogs in the lounge which caused them to start barking because they knew what i was doing I then opened the back door and shouted the cat The cat didnt appear so i went upstairs to get her still half asleep pissed that the little git had woken me up couldnt find her so came back down thinking she had run down and gone outside I opened the lounge door and was nearly knocked over by the dogs well i hadnt secured the dog gate properly so they both charged upstairs into the bedroom Mickey looking for the cat and Keira trying to stop him What a bloody palava at 5am I wasnt amused Good job hubby had gone to work and the cat had managed to sneak out Oh well atleast ive probably given you lot something to have a giggle about | |

| its no giggling matter hun, I know how frustrated I have been with marley and still am at times with his barking (Its amazing I still have hair!!) the only way I can get him to settle at times as I have said is putting him on his lead, I dont have to hold on to it once he lies down he settles down with his lead on!! One of my neighbours has even said she wonders how our windows are still intact. Yet when he is out off lead I couldnt wish for a better dog. I wish there was something i could suggest hun | |

| unless we are professional dog trainers and have the time 24/7 to keep on top of the training i dont think many of us are going to have the 'perfect' dog .. some dogs are naturally submissive and are happy to follow your lead, others are not, and you have to keep them in check as much as you possibly can :rolls eyes: : unless you can double his walks and keep him tired i cant think of anything that might help.... for a while i did games with fred, that used to exhaust him, it might be worth a try,or even doing some basic obedience in the privacy of your garden ... | |

| god Bren he really is testing your patience isn't he hun. there is nowt worse that shouting and shouting at a dog that has suddenly gone stone deaf especially at 5am. wonder what your neighbours think when your screaming, "Mickey" at that hour sorry Bren!! but his antics don't half make me giggle it's the way you write it down too I am trying to keep a straight face typing this lol!! you should do a day to day diary of the things Mickey does it would be a best seller. I have no advice Bren hun sorry.. when it comes to dog training it's me that gets bored before the dogs do. and if they wont do what i ask the first time I just say... "f**k it your all thick" and walk off I have a tiny tiny amount of patience with stuff like that, that's why Tilly still hates little dogs, Shady has selective hearing, and both Bailey and Me suffer separation anxiety I hope you can sort something out with Mickey before you lose your hair and sanity. xxxxxxxx p.s oh! wait a minute 1 bit of advice for you.. get rid of Mojo Joke | |

| Well Bren you know what I would do for Mojo you may think I am mad or joking but I am not I would look to see how Mojo could come and go in and outta the house without Mickey being able to be annoying or you having to be at your wits end Have you anyway of Mojo leaving or entering the house upstairs I know of something similar being done before. The cat would basically live upstairs but had peace and quiet would come and go through a cat flap put in a window and a series of little ladders were made for the cat to use to get to the cat flap may sound comical or a lot of work to do or whatever but the house went from being a madhouse to calm once the cat got the hang of its new entrance | |

| do you have a crate you could pop him in when you let the cat in and out, maybe if you got blinds for your windows he might not be able to see the cat outside , i really don't know what to say, but i would be more concerned about him growling at me, i could accept the cat thing but NEVER GROWLING | |

| The growling bit is the bit im concerned about and as you can see from this pic i used to have blinds until Mickey arrived This was before he totally trashed them Have also tried the crating him but he knows as soon as i close the door im letting the cat in so goes crazy It does stop him from getting to the cat but its not teaching him to leave her alone I pmsl when i read Sandras post i keep humming the mission impossible theme tune now and visualising mojo climbing all sorts of ladders trying to get in the house without Mickey seeing her Not a bad idea tho ive got a spare decking plank so i might open the kitchen window at night with the plank propped on the window ledge then hopefully i wont have to get up She can just come in whenever shes ready and go upstairs without Mickey noticing if she doesnt come in before i go to bed she can stay out And Karen You know mojo has friends that you dont like You dont want the C***** to come out do you | |
