| For Mickey Little bugger did a runner today on Cannock Chase :2431: OH took the dogs this afternoon (ive been at work all Easter holiday ) anyway they went to the place where they always walk which is away from all the hikers bikers walkers etc and disaster Mickey and Keira spotted a rabbit and were off like a shot chasing it OH called them back and Keira stopped and came straight back but Mickey he was gone in a flash OH ran after him nearly giving himself a heart attack and finally caught up with him trying to get in a farmers field :2431: luckily the rabbit had managed to get underneath a fence and run into the field Mickey was running up and down trying to work out how to get in the field When called he looked at OH and totally ignored him he was totally focused on getting the rabbit Thank God the rabbit ran into the fenced off area or we would still be out looking for Mickey Worse still there was a herd of deer a few hundred yards from where he was but luckily he hadnt spotted them so to be on the safe side he will be kept onlead when walked We use an extendable lead so he can still have a run about or i will have him on the lunge line Im sure this dog is trying to give me a nervous breakdown Really scared the crap out of OH aswell | |

| Hes normally really good when OH calls him back (not so much for me ) He does however have a very strong prey drive that just takes over this is the first time hes seen a rabbit we normally see deer which he is wary of and they are usually quite far away or squirrels that will run up trees It was such a shock for OH when he just kept going you can understand how dogs can easily get lost | |

| fres is only let off lead when theres nothing around us hun, and he doesnt bother either ... even if he only gets one throw of the ball hes happy enough ... i use an extendable lead if i need too, not very often mind, cos i always forget it | |
