| RAINBOW BRIDGE
There is a bridge connecting Heaven and Earth. It is called the Rainbow Bridge because of its many colours. Just this side of the Rainbow Bridge there is a land of meadows, hills, and valleys with lush green grass. When a beloved pet dies, the pet goes to this place. There is always food and water and warm Spring weather. The old frail animals are young again. They play all day with each other. There is only one thing missing, they are not with their special person who loved them so much on Earth.
Each day they all run and play until the day comes when one suddenly stops playing and looks up! The nose twitches! The ears rise up! The eyes are staring! Then suddenly, this one runs from the group! You have been seen, and when you and your special friend meet, you take him or her into your arms and you both embrace. Your face is licked again and again and you look once more into the eyes of your trusting pet.
Then you cross the Rainbow Bridge together, never again to be separated

| awww.. it's lovely, i don't belive in god , but i really hope there is a rainbow bridge for the dogs, if someone deserves it it's our dogs..
I've got 3 rainbow bridge poems that 's a little bit different from yours, so i thought i'd post them, hope it's ok. :)
Just this side of Heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge. When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine and our friends are warm and comfortable. All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor: those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing: they each miss someone very special, someone who was left behind. They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent: his eager body begins to quiver. Suddenly, he breaks from the group, flying over the green grass, faster and faster. You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into those trusting eyes, so long gone from your life, but never absent from your heart. Then you cross the Rainbow Bridge together...
"Tears in my Soul" The pain I'm feeling is like tears in my soul, flooding my mind, not wanting to let go. You loved me so much as I have loved you, And now you are gone and I feel gone too You tried to tell me something was wrong, But I ignored the signs for far too long. You were so brave, too much so it seems. Why didn't you cry out for help from me? I betrayed you my friend but I hope that you know, that I loved you so much, that's why I hurt so. It's too late for you now, but I promise you this friend, I will never ignore the needs of others again. I pray for the day, it may take months or years, that memories of you bring joy not these tears. But I pray most of all that I when I walk down that ridge, You'll be there beside me as we cross Rainbow Bridge.
By the edge of a woods, at the foot of a hill, Is a lush, green meadow where time stands still. Where the friends of man and woman do run, When their time on earth is over and done. For here, between this world and the next, Is a place where each beloved creature finds rest. On this golden land, they wait and they play, Till the Rainbow Bridge they cross over one day. No more do they suffer, in pain or in sadness, For here they are whole, their lives filled with gladness. Their limbs are restored, their health renewed, Their bodies have healed, with strength imbued. They romp through the grass, without even a care, Until one day they start, and sniff at the air. All ears prick forward, eyes dart front and back, Then all of a sudden, one breaks from the pack. For just at that instant, their eyes have met; Together again, both person and pet. So they run to each other, these friends from long past. The time of their parting is over at last The sadness they felt while they were apart, Has turned into joy once more in each heart. They embrace with a love that will last forever, And then, side-by-side, they cross over... together.
The last battle
If it should be that I grow frail and weak and pain should keep me from my sleep, Then you must do what must be done, For this--the last battle--can't be won. You will be sad I understand, Don't let grief then stay your hand, For on this day, more than the rest, Your love and friendship must stand the test. We have had so many happy years, What is to come can hold no fears You'd not want me to suffer, so. When the time comes, please let me go. Take me to where to my needs they'll tend, Only, stay with me til the end And hold me firm and speak to me Until my eyes no longer see. I know in time you will agree it is a kindness you do to me. Although my tail its last has waved, From pain and suffering I have been saved. Don't grieve that it must be you Who has to decide this thing to do; We've been so close--we two--these years, Don't let your heart hold any tears. Author Unknown | |

| Heres one that someone left me, when Ben died
Weep not for me though I am gone Into that gentle night, Grieve if you will, but not for long Upon my soul's sweet flight. I am at peace, my soul's at rest There is no need for tears, For with your love I was so blessed For all those many years. There is no pain, I suffer not The fear now all is gone, Put now these things out of your thoughts, In your memory I live on. Remember not my fight for breath Remember not the strife, Please do not dwell upon my death, But celebrate my life. |

| Here is another I was sent for my Ben..
They're so true.
We were so very close, we two but I had to let you go I hope that you can understand it was because I loved you so. No more pain, no aching limbs no earthly ties that bind No dimming eyes, no sleepless nights you've left them all behind I lost you many months ago, and gained a broken heart Yet I feel you close to me although we are apart Sometimes when I'm all alone, I feel you by my side, As if to try and comfort me, through all the nights I've cried I thought I saw you here today, out the corner of my eye, Felt soft fur against my skin, heard the faintest sigh. So wait for me at Rainbow Bridge Until we meet once more then we will walk together again through Heaven's open door... |
