| Kala has been crate trained since the day we brought her home and has never had any problem with it until recently.
I know I posted about her shredding her bed a couple of weeks ago when we went out for an hour to get some shopping well Madam has shredded another 2 beds this week and a little mat while Ed has taken me to work she was only crated for 15 mins at the most.
You just have to say to her at night bedtime and she is straight in there and we have no problems, its just during the day. She sticks to me like glue where I am she is I wonder if she is objecting me going to work!!!
anyone have any ideas, I wouldnt dare not crate her as I probably wouldnt have a house to come back to if the pair of them decide to play rough, Im just worried it gets out of hand and she ends up getting hurt I would rather crate her and know she is safe.

| Not sure tbh Jude If it is seperation anxiety (which I am not sure if it is) the advice that comes with that is, do not make a fuss when going or returning, try leaving a radio on etc. Bryn had a touch of this with me, he would pull at threads in the kitchen carpet and I would come back to a little bundle of wool, I ignored it, and also put a touch vicks on the bits that he was likely to shread, I don't know if he grew out of it or if my actions worked he hates being parted though, still does but doesn't seem to do much other than 'grump' at me when I return | |

never thought of that Sue, its basically when I leave her in the mornings she throws a right hissy fit, she doesnt do it at bedtime, she doesnt do it when Ed leaves the house at 2pm when he's on 3-11, she doesnt do it when he goes to bed when he's on a night shift, she has never done it when Ed leaves at 6am and me 7am when he's on a day shift. we always leave the radio on too Will try vet bed cos she isnt getting another £26 bed this week to rip to shreds!!!

| i haven't got any ideas or tips Judes sorry, but some of what has already been said sounds like good advice tho i have so much trouble with Shady ripping things to bits when i go out I've give up with her now i just make sure she can't get anything, but more often than not she will go look for something to rip up. | |

| i once saw something on a doggie programme about anxiety , they crated the dog covered the crate with a sheet , made a video of themselves talking to the dog and played the video when they went out but the dog thought they were still in the house, a bit extreme but i think it worked | |
