Just to let you know hun we are thinking of you, what with your OH leaving tomorrow and to say we will try and keep you outta trouble and well occupied on here and make the time go much faster till he returns home from duty

the past two days have been soooooooo busy i fell asleep misnutes after he let at lunch time ... :2431:

its all official now.... his promotion has been up on the board and its no longer a secret all though he is now a WO2 ...hes still a SSGT until he gets his new posting... which hes hoping isnt until he gets back in august..... hes waited 19years for a tour like belize and knowing his luck he will have to come home ealy to take up a new position with his new rank :2431:

its looking like he may go to germany for 2 years .. which isnt as bad as it sounds.... the money is amazing and he will often get long weekends at home .. and hes only got 2 years till he can officially retire...which he may not do as he has been granted a 2 year extension.... but even then, when he gets off he may go to somewhere like saudia arabia for a year or two.... he can earn £40,000 a year tax free there ....

gawd knows how i am going to cope with him under my feet in retirement.... i think thats when i will go out and work :san12: :san12:

2 years until he can retire honestly, lol he is still so young

What ever you both decide I wish you both all the luck and happiness going

his life would be very strange out of the army I should imagine after being in it for so long

Glad to hear he got off alright and is heading for somewhere nice

Hope he gets to enjoy his tour in Belize and like you said isnt called back early

cheers girls.... yes he is quite young lol.... you wouldnt think hes been in the army nearly 20years .... he deserves everything he works for... he never though he would get past sergeant.... he has very bad dyslexia,not only when he writes but often when he speaks too .... so hes quite hard to understand :2431: ... he often rings me for spellings and how to word something, and i do most of his letter writing .... and i push him into doing the courses at work, i tell him he can do it, and not to be so stupid .... and it has paid off... he was only SSGT for 15mths and now hes WO2 and i am MAM :san12: :san12: ....

hes panicking about leaving the army.... hes never known anything different...his dad was in the army, and when he retired, my OH joined up.... .....

i will be there to guide him in the right direction............

On the old films about army life the officers used to have a little manservant who looked after their uniforms and polished their boots. Weren't they called a batman? Or something equally silly.
