Dogtalk4us 2011 Calendar

Now the festivities are over Im slowly getting back to normality( well as normal as they can be for me!!!) and into my admin duties on the forum. Even with the hiccup with the 2010 calendar, lessons have been learnt and Im still happy to do the calendars if you would like me too

Now the search is on for pics for our 2011 calendar. what I would like to know is how you would like the layout so I have put a vote before we start entering pics.

Its not MY calendar its YOUR calendar and I can only advise. Personally I like the format it is this year with some full pics and the 4 compilation pics but we will go with the majority vote.

Also there is 1 stipulation this year all pics entered must be over 500KB as the calendar company have updated their upload and anything under that will not upload.

voting will close on 9th January and Competition will be open for Entries on 10th january!!

Just a suggestion... would it not be easier if the winning pic is e-mailed to you in it's original file size?

Because of the lovely snow pics that are entered just for the calendar could a member enter more than one pic of their dog/s and let others decide what they think they would like in it


If that will be a pain Jude, ignore me it's just looking at Lynnes and Jans pics they posted I like a few of each

the snow pics could be entered in most of the months in our yearly calendar
so i think everyone should post loads and loads and loads and loads of snow
pictures i love em

no probs entering more than 1 pic I was thinking having one pic for january and 6 runners up done as a compilation for february. How does that sound? I agree theres some cracking shots!!

thats what I normally ask Lynne if the one I take from the forum has a low file size like I did with Jans of Indie and you kindly emailed it to me but there were a few last year that were really low some as low as only 20k even when emailed luckily some were going on compilations and the pics were kept small. Sending photobucket pics is no good either as I have found. Hopefully the pics that are entered this year the original files will have been kept.

i would love it to be possible to have everyones dogs on this years calender,
speaking personally I have 5 dogs and would love them all to be included.

I think it would be a nice idea to hold a few pages back for those who didn't win a monthly vote and put a compliation of those dogs on those pages!

may not be possible to include all dogs but hopefully all active members will have one or more of their dogs on the calendar this is what I did for this calendar but will try my best without spoiling the calendar.

Hello, is the calendar for charity?? Are there any copies of this years still available? xx

The calendars arent for charity they are done for the members Lisa. I run a monthly competition to see which pics go into the calendar. I dont have any left apart from the mishap ones (long story!!!) which you could have for £2 to cover postage. They are ok, Ed did 2 prints to cover the mishap 2 but the calendar company reprinted free of charge so I have 16 mishaps here lol!!!

If anyone would like a mishap please let me know before I bin them

I like the idea of everyones dogs getting on the calender but dont you think people entering loads of pics will make the judging really awkward

What happens if there are about 20 pics and only 10 people vote and they all vote for different pics so there isnt an outright winner

You know what it was like last year you had to keep prompting people to vote and there were loads of tie breakers Just a thought that has just popped into my head You could be giving yourself a headache there
Im easy whatever is decided I loved this years calender but i also like the idea of six compilations so everyone who enters the competitions dogs get on the calender

yeah Bren it is. Im hoping its going to be the same as this year or 6 of each. I agree with everything you said especially with the voting problem. I think because of the snowy pics thre are so many nice ones if we allow each member to post 2 or 3 of their favourites and then we can decide which one we like for january and also choose 6 for a compilation for February. This will be the only time that a member can enter more than 1 pic of the same dog as you have said and I agree it will cause a bit of a headache!!
