THERE will be plenty of paws for thought when a show goes on sale this month at the Metro Radio Arena in Newcastle.
World-famous Dog Whisperer Cesar Millan is heading to Toon, with a show booked in at the venue for March 13 next year.
Tickets go on sale on November 23, along with two other shows on sale this Friday and Saturday.
The War of The Worlds is making a return to the Arena (tickets on sale Friday), as is WWE wrestling (on sale Saturday).
Dog whisperer Cesar’s tour has recently completed sell-out runs in the US and Australia.
He
has a huge following of dog lovers in the UK as the star of National
Geographic’s hit TV show The Dog Whisperer with Cesar Millan, plus a
hugely successful range of books and DVDs.
His high profile
client list boasts Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith, Oprah Winfrey,
Scarlett Johansson, Nicolas Cage and Hilary Duff to name but a few.
Cesar
works by holistically training dog owners to understand the world
through a dog’s eyes. His popularity in the States has led to him being
parodied by South Park and Saturday Night Live.
Back by
phenomenal demand, Jeff Wayne’s musical version of The War of The
Worlds – Alive on Stage! is set to return to the Arena on December 2
next year.
Following the hugely successful and
critically-acclaimed sell-out arena tours in 2006, 2007 and 2009,
singing and acting sensation Jason Donovan, Atomic Kitten’s Liz
McClarnon and Moody Blues’ Justin Hayward will star in the
highly-anticipated new production.
Jeff Wayne will once again be conducting the 10-piece Black Smoke Band and 36-piece ULLAdubULLA Strings.
Remaining cast members to be announced soon.
Jeff
says: “I’m most excited about Jason and Liz joining our newest
production of The War of The Worlds – Alive on Stage! Having worked
with them both in my studio, developing their roles, I know they will
bring their own individual magic to the character of The Artilleryman,
and Beth, the wife of Parson Nathaniel.
“It is also very special
for me and all TWOTW team to know that Justin Hayward will once again
be returning as The Sung Thoughts of The Journalist. Justin is a
remarkable artist who is amongst the few, from any genre of music, who
have spanned such a long and successful career both as lead singer with
the Moody Blues and as a solo artist.”
UK fans and media alike have been astounded by the groundbreaking technology featured in previous productions, including:
An 11ft high 3D photo-real floating hologram of Richard Burton, In Sight and Sound, as George Herbert, The Journalist
A 3-tonne, 35ft tall Martian Fighting Machine firing heat rays at the audience and scanning them with its bug-like eyes
A 100ft wide by 25ft high screen projecting two-hour CGI-animated movie in sync with the show and its live performances.
The
2010-11 production is shaping up to be the most innovative and exciting
yet, with a range of new ingredients, including an ensemble of
speciality performers who will add a new dimension to the unfolding of
HG Wells’s visionary story.
Meanwhile, WWE will return to the
venue on April 8 with the explosive RAW Wrestle Mania Revenge Tour,
featuring the likes of Triple H, John Cena, Randy Orton, Kofi Kingston,
MVP, Melina, and Kelly Kelly.
