Nothing exciting for me today...just the normal...... work, then home and come on here for an hour.... then get Marley and Kala out between 5 and 6 and then Kala has puppy class at 7.30 to 8.30.....then get Ed out of bed for work and then I'll go to bed.

how is kala doing in her puppy class Jude?

Kala is doing really well thanks Elaine. what amazes me is that there are dogs there the same age as kala and they cant even do the basic sit and down commands which she has been doing from 7 weeks old.

My only problem with her and you may be able to help is that she is terrible for pulling on the lead and she is really hard work with her heel as she has her nose constantly to the ground and its hard getting her attention and to stay focused. I know she is only a baby and hopefully it will come in time.

But have alterations to kennels to finish tonight ,frame built last night so just gate and panels to be meshed tonight

Unfortunately Jude I have the same problem with Sam pulling on the lead when he is out on his walk. I have tried treats, stopping when he pulls but nothing seems to work at the mo. He does it fine in puppy class. Hopefully the penny will drop with him but being a male im not so sure:san21:

maybe kala's going to be a scent dog when she grows up :san42: try getting her attention by treat or ball on a rope say whats this in a silly voice so she looks up at you and when she does tell her she's a good girl,

I have tried with food Sue and I get her attention for nano seconds and then its back to sniffing!! Will try a ball on a rope. I have 2 weeks hols starting Friday so I will be working on this!!

I never managed to get Bryn to walk nicely (like the perfect heel) although he never really pulls, he is always one step ahead if you know what I mean


Anyway, we have almost sorted it

The only way i did it was, teaching him back, in the house first, because Ellie was coming, I didn't want them running ahead of me through doors and squishing her

So they all had to learn back, if anyone went ahead of me, I called them back, said back, used the hand signal as well till they got it.

Then I transfered it to the walk, and low and behold it ruddy well works how old is he now :san22: 21mths
