| It's not so much the colour for me but the individual dog Of course I love my boy the way he is  but that's because it's him, I wouldn't worry if I woke tomorrow and he was another colour :nhy: but I would be as shocked as hell :san22: I have seen a slate blue (if that's considered blue), there was one in Bryn's litter and the breeders had a 7 or 9 mth old there as well, he was there to be socialised as apparently he was a sod. Never seen a Panda, or Liver | |

| i hate to see blue shepherds ect im with kenny on this sorry guys
I love pure blacks Bi's and proper Sables not these wishy washy ones you see
but again colours last on the list to health and drive for me.
i would rescue a white shep but would also never go out of my way to buy one, the gene pool is far too small and i dont agree with breeding white on white at all. plus for work they are not the best as they are genrally weaker in temperment

I agree as I prefer the breed standard colours but it doesnt necessarily mean they are any lesser a dog for all that. I' m sure they are just as healthy (possibly more so) & certainly just as loved!!

| i DO NOT like the KC never have, but i have trained and met many blues and very odd colours and imo they tend to have more health and behaviour issues due to breeding just for that colour. so the gene pools are very small
this is just my opinion not may ppl like my dogs, but i belive that health and temperment should come first b4 colour and coat length.

| i would never have bought a dog like xena ever lol not my type of shep at all but i rescued her and loved her to bits
she was the dumbest dog i ever met and had more health issues to match lol but she was loved and thats all that matters.
but if her breeders had taken in to consideration correct breeding i wouldnt have lost her at 3yrs old nor would she have had sooo many health issues

| karen thats the gsd breed council not KC, the breed council , gsd lge & BAGSD have now formed the gsd partnership to try force the KC to make Health issues compulsary for gsds before breeding, this will include dogs having to be breed surveyed. AS the GSD is the only breed that the KC allows faults to be registered, Blues/livers used to culled at birth as Know one wanted anyone to Know that sire or dame carried faulty genes. We recently had a breeder in scotland advertising THE ONLY BLUES in Scotland for £ 850 the normal pups inlitter were £400 just another rip off on joe public. I will bet they did not tell the new buyers that they were paying £450 more for a fault | |
