Do any of you use Haltis? If so have you ever had any problems with then and do you think a 15 month old would take to one ok. I have thought about trying Marley with one.

I use one when I think he will be pulling, most of the time Bryn is good on the lead, but when he gets over excited I will use one, works well, it is a must to slowly introduce them though

Michael uses one on Sly when we take them out together. Just make sure you fit it properly cos sometimes they rub the eyes

i use one for fred all the time jude, and i occasionally use one for betty but only in crowded places because she panics and needs to be controlled!...

i think theyre great, theyre not a solution though, theyre just an aid, i still try to make fred walk to heel as much as i can lol while hes wearing it, as he will still pull even with the halti, but it makes life a whole lot easier with one on!

dogmatics are more gentle hun they tend not to ride into the eyes like haltis but they are a good tool if used correctly and fitted right like bev said hun xx

I tried a halti with Mimi before Maggie was lead trained and she hated it. I tried a canac one after that, forgot what they are but less straps than a halti and she never bothered with that at all, perfectly fine.

Mind you, I only used it three times, now they are both on a lead and collar without pulling so its redundant.

My 3 all wear the gentle leader even indie and he's only 11 months, imo they are
a better fit and more comfortable on the dog than a halti.

oh, I think its a gentle leader, just reminded me lol

Its sits in a V shape shelley, one strap around the snout and one behind the ears, so from the side, looks like a V. Its loads better than a halti.
