| Kim is 10 years old and has spent nearly all her life locked in a bedroom. Her owner has recently died and she has just under 2 weeks left before the relatives have to have her put to sleep. She desperately needs are caring and understanding home to live out her remaining years. She appears fit and healthly, and has lots of energy. She likes to play and loves attention! Her family say she needs to go to a home with no young children or other dogs/cats. She also pulls on the lead because she has hardly ever been walked. Please bear in mind the photo shows her in her current environment and does not do her justice. This poor girl has had such an awful life, yet still appears happy and playful. Is there anyone who can help save her life? If anyone can help either with rehoming or temporary foster care, or if you would like to know more please can you pm me or call me on 07742427141. Time is running out for Kim, please take time to consider if you, or anyone you know, can help.

| That was the best of 7 photos! The room was awful, made me feel like crying to leave her there. Poor girl needs a bath and a good brush too. Really wish I could take her in! | |

It really makes you wonder what is going on in our country and how many other poor dogs we never hear about living like this. | |

| So I need to speak to the family tomorrow see if they will let me take Kim out and about for an hour or two. Wanna try to assess her reaction around other dogs/people, etc. Couple of people have been in touch offering help but all could really do with knowing more. Just hope the family say yes! | |

| So today went really well. I picked her up at 9.30 this morning and took her back at 5. We had a great day, and all went well. We did some street walking, lots of traffic and people... no problems. She walked nicely on the lead, enjoying sniffing all the wonderful smells. We met a couple of dogs along the way, Kim showed hardly any interest in them at all, even when a bull mastiff started barking at her. We also passed a guy jet washing his car, a very noisy dog guarding a garage, met several people of different sexes, even experienced a motorcycle and said hello to the driver who was still wearing his crash helmet.... no problems with anything. Then we went to Cannock Chase. Met a dog walker with 4 dogs. We said hello and took a few photos. Kim sniffed a little, but if anything seemed a little nervous being around so many dogs and decided she wanted to go the other way. Then we passed 2 horses and riders, again no problems. I took her home, put Sabre in back garden and she expored my house, totally ignoring my cat who was doing an impression of some creature off a horror film! I then put up the safety gate and had Kim in the living room and Sabre in the kitchen. They had a little sniff through the gate, and then she brought me a toy. Sabre tried really hard to attract her attention, and eventually worked out if he bounced a ball she'd show an interest, but it was definitely interest in the ball and not him! To be honest she shows very little interest in other animals, and is most happy with a human to play with. I was shattered so thought I'd put my feet up for half an hour, but she was having none of it and kept dropping toys in my lap. She's was a really good girl and only problem we had was getting her in my car. It's a 4 x 4 and too high for her to jump and she wouldn't use the ramp. Had to lift her back end in, which she wasn't keen on. Only other problems I can see are her claws that need clipping, and her eyes are a little cloudy and the colouring of her pupils seems to have spread into the whites (anyone know what that is?), but she could definitely spot the ball when you threw it! Her gait seemed normal but she seemed to walk a little wide on her back legs (like someone who's peed their pants), so not sure if that's down to joint problems or stiffness because of not being walked. Then I took her back. Was awful to have to leave her in those awful conditions. Think we have around a week left to sort something out for her, so fingers crossed. Here's a couple of pics from today..... And these are photos I took on the first day I met her showing the awful conditions she's living in..... | |

| I have to call Lisa Walker from GS Rescue UK after 8.30 tonight and update her, she had a potential home. Also had an older couple phone me this morning (and ask for Karen Mills! lol). They have recently lost their shepherd, so will let him know more about her character tonight. If no home is found there are 2 offers of help to save her from being pts, so looks good. Considering the life she has had she's remarkable. She's so responsive, intelligent and well behaved. I really dunno what the family were going on about. She's better behaved around other animals than Sabre!! Think they were trying to justify having her put down! | |
