Butch 17 week old GSD

Short-haired black and sable medium sized shepherd..
He is Currently in foster in Middlesbrough.



Age: 17weeks old (w/c 12th Nov'12)
Gender: Male
Coat: Short-haired black and sable medium sized shepherd.
Currently In: England
Neutered: no *please see neutering policy
Identity: microchipped
Inoculated: due 2013
Basic commands: Butch would thrive with further training - we would suggest when he is adopted that he is taken to local training, and keeping up the socialising too. He is snappy with some people which must not be taken as mouthing as there is quite a difference. Our foster is working on this issue, but this would need to be worked on further and not to entice this kind of behaviour even during play.
Dogs: Currently in foster with another German Shepherd and being the typical pup of this age is- no big issues with other dogs. We would suggest to keep up the socialising at such a young age too.
Cats: not tested - would suit a cat free home.
Children: We would suggest older children which are large breed savvy 9+ onwards as Butch is quite snappy and could possibly hurt younger children if not supervised.
More Information
Notes: A lovely typical pup - snappy with people so this does need to be supverised and worked on further when adopted. We would suggest possibly him being adopted into a home with another dog who will be able to teach him good manners and respect as all dogs mirror one another.
Please make sure you are able to look after such a young puppy - they do come with problems ie chewing, soiling, and some other bad behaviour puppies come with, we can help and give you guidance but this boy does need an experienced home and possibly someone who is able to work further with him for training and agility to burn off the high energy all pups have.

I was hoping I got to foster him ....might never have let him go though

I wish Mickey was more dog friendly id love to be a foster

Mind you i would be the same not wanting to let them leave

I have to be careful because of Fred he's okay with younger dogs but I wouldn't like to trust him with an older dog plus I've got tia, so I have to think about her too

This is why a rescue is good, they will assess the dog and the home first

I haven't had chance yet sange none have come up near me .... Plus I can only take in young dogs because of grumpy Fred and Tia being young ... I can do homechecks assessments follow ups and other stuff though lol!!!....
