| Well, I've always used crates for the girls. We dont get mess, chewed up stuff and Joe bugging them all the time. Now we have Stan too, we dont have the room for three crates so the girls dont have one now, though sometimes we put Maggie in with Stan for awhile. Mimi and Maggie have both been sleeping loose downstairs at night for a couple of weeks and they have been excellent. I'm very proud they are turning into lovely, well behaved dogs that I felt like a brag :2431: :2431: :2431: (Wait for the stories about Stan though, I'm convinced hes going to be the biggest pain in the arse I ever met :2445: :2445: ) | |

He's gone back to his old trick of chewing wires, hasnt done it for months and will try his damnest even though he knows he's gonna get told off!!!! :redangry: I wouldnt trust him as far as I could throw him at the moment so he gets crated at night!! | |

| Well done paula for getting them out of a cage. Hope all goes well. Never used acrate cause its better to solve what the dog is doing wrong or i have heard of people keeping adult dogs in crates which is cruel. | |

| Marley only gets crated through the night so I know he's safe and not up to mischief!! I would love it if he would sleep with us in the bedroom but he wont entertain it, we have tried often but he cries to be downstairs. He often wanders off during the day and he'll be sound asleep in his crate. Mind you he has a double duvet in there and 3 blankets and its an extra large one so he has plenty of room!! | |

| Thats why I use them Jude. It stops them doing things they shouldnt when no one is there. It also stops any fights etc breaking out too plus gives them somewhere to go out of Joes way when they have had enough of him. He knows to leave them if they go in their crates. I actually feel a bit guilty taking them down, they love them but I really want the space lol I agree that its cruel to use them the way some do Rosemary, they get used instead of dealing with the dog far too much and that is wrong, but as a training aid and a retreat, I agree fully with using crates Cheers everyone, I'm very proud of them  | |

| I can understand that crates are a safety thing sometimes, but its a shame the breeders of some dogs dont know what there doing when they raise a litter of pups. When i have a litter they are well ajusted and when they have gone to new homes they are queit sensible and are not crated. | |

| Like Jude said she got Marley at 6 weeks. If they are with the mother for a couple more weeks they learn so much more behaveier from their mum. Its a wonderful thing to watch, spent many hours watching mum teaching them manners and at 10 weeks when i have kept a pup you see the mother teaching them to play. | |

| awww it must be lovely to watch Rosemary  Marley is a good boy most of the time but when he goes into mischief mode and I can tell by his eyes and the look on his face exactly when he is going to start and then he goes to all the places he knows he is going to get told off for and I swear to god he stands and laughs at me!! But one thing for sure he certainly keeps me on my toes :2445:
