| ive just bought two snails for the fish tank and ive noticed that after feeding them ther algae flakes the water is going a green colour, it says on the pack that it wont discolour the water, but it clearly has!
i have to put quite a few flakes in though,as the fish will eat them alongside their own food!!!!.... so im putting in 4 or 5 twice a day, as well as fish food twice a day, i know this is way to much.
how much should i be feeding? | |

| I use half, just letting it drop to the bottom (as I always have for my peppered bottom feeders) that half is put in every other day, they eat it and so do the other fish | |

| no need to feed this if you want rid of algae in tank. These pellet foods are for catfish and loaches to ensure enough food gets to the bottom of tank. Feed fish only once daily (normal flake) if any gets to bottom no need for tablets. or feed a tablet after lights out as only catfish and snails will be active.. CUCUMBER OR LETTECE is ideal for algae eaters. Cut one or two slices of cucumber and weighdown( i used to use the metal you get around plants)Blanched lettece leaf is best and again weighdown. THE GREEN WATER IS CAUSED BY FLOURISH IN BACTERIA DUE TO OVERFEEDING do partial water change and cut down on food | |
