The hips are xrayed and sent to the BVA who assess the hip socket and score it 0-106 with 0 being the best.. Gemma has 0/0 hips the best result you can get and every breeders dream. Alfie was 2/4 which is still excellent as the total is in single figures.

IT is a test to determine the degree of hip dysplacia carried by the dog. No good breeder would breed from a dog whose hips were over 19 which is the breed average although it is only a test and does not mean that dogs with hip dysplacia cannot be produced.

Hope that helps !!! If you type hip dysplacia into google you will get better explainations...

Hence why i am so happy with my boys results...
