| My mum might be having about 5 chickens delivered on saturday She wanted to get them last year and even got a fenced off area and hutch thing ready but never got round to actaully getting them, but apparantly a friend of a friend has died so his chickens need a home and mum was more than happy to say yes. Only problem i dont like birds and guess who will be looking after them nearly every weekend over the summer when mum and dad are away. Im worried about what Viva will be like with them, they will be fenced off but knowing Viva she'll find a way to get them | |

| Not keen on getting too close to birds ever since my Gran's budgie got stuck in my hair when I was about 4! :2431: My friend's son keeps chickens. They live on a farm so they (the chickens, that is!!) have a large shed all to themselves. He has 8, 3 different breeds. He can recognise all the different breeds by sight and knows which type of hen has laid the eggs!! And he's only four years old!! They have the run of the yard once all the horses are worked and then Barney rounds them up as soon as it starts to go dark. On one occasion Kia chased them all round the yard and we spent about two hours looking for one by torchlight. Gave up in the end and left it to the mercy of the foxes but it turned up safe and sound next morning fortunately | |
