| Had some sad news today
A friend of mine has a very promising young event horse. She had a flatwork lesson today but her lorry wouldnt start so she borrowed a trailer. Unfortunately the floor must have been rotten cos Bud's leg went through and he has partially severed a tendon. She has been told that it is extremely unlikely that he will recover sufficiently to compete again and there is only 40:60 chance that he will even come sound.
If he doesnt then it will be the bullet because unless she can afford to keep him as a pet, being a gelding, there's no other job he can do. | |

| That's so sad. I hope he recovers, and she's able to keep him! | |

| He's a bit of a live wire and I'm not sure that he could cope with standing in a field all day. The best she can hope for is that he becomes sound enough to hack & do a few riding club events. | |
