Keira hurt on walk

Linda, Sabre, Keira and me had a great walk yesterday on Cannock Chase As per usual Keira ran around like a loon enjoying herself Well late last night OH went to stroke the dog and noticed some blood on her side We were shocked to find she had a gapping hole in her side where the skin was ripped open especially as she hadnt shown any discomfort or pain Have no idea how she did it We took her to the vets this morning and she has been prescribed antibiotics and anti inflammatory drugs The vet did say he could stitch it up but feels it will heal better leaving it as it is and bathing it with iodine Last time Keira had stitches she had an allergic reaction to them She should be fine within a few weeks but i dont know how she will manage not being able to run around up the chase for a few weeks Heres some photos of the wound and of her feeling sorry for herself because she has to wear a lampshade :san56:

Thanks :love: Vet says it looks worse than it is and she will be fine as long as it is kept clean and doesnt get infected but it looks bloody sore to me :sxa:

awww my workers have high pain thresholds and always have gashes somewhere its stupid my kiera had on on the inside of her thigh and she didnt even notice lol they just barge thought stuff so get caught by brambles ect which tear them and so on

Keira is running riot with her lampshade on :2445: so far she has scooped the cat up, turned into a snow plough in the garden, bruised my legs by keep walking into me and nearly bulldozed the house :san22: i think its a ploy for me to take it off :Yes: She is fine but bored the wound is drying up nicely and she doesnt seem to be in any pain think it is itching tho Vet says not to take her out for a few days until the wound scabs over so it doesnt get infected She kept nudging her lead and looking at me earlier It was a shame She gave up eventually and sat :san42: watching cesar milan like a little couch potato which is very unlike her Hope she learnt something
