| heard about this early this morning
Headteacher pays tribute to John-Paul Massey killed by family dog in LiverpoolNov 30 2009 By Ben Turner TODAY John-Paul Massey's headteacher described him as "such a friendly, cheerful little boy" who loved life. Michael Hennessey said the four-year-old had only been a pupil at St Clare's primary school nursery in Wavertree since September but in his short time had made a huge impression and "was very popular among all the children." On hearing of John-Paul’s death, staff and pupils fought back tears when the children were told the news in a stunned assembly hall this morning. The 52 nursery children will now be offered extra counselling and support as they try to comprehend their friend’s death. Paying his own poignant tribute, Mr Hennessey said his last memory of John-Paul singing carols for a school Christmas CD is one he will always cherish. He said: "It was Tuesday last week when we were recording the carols and I remember seeing him sitting in the hall singing along so enthusiastically. It was this memory I shared with the children this morning. "He was such a friendly, cheerful little boy and so popular among all the children. He would join in everything and was undoubtedly a clever boy. "Everyone’s thoughts at St Clare’s are with his family at this desperately sad time," John-Paul’s brother Craig was also a former pupil at the school. Read more about this story

| This story is so sad R.I.P. John Paul When are these stupid people going to stop leaving kids with dangerous dogs ffs it was a banned breed Where was their common sense I feel extremely sorry but at the same time extremely mad The family obviously knew the dog was a banned breed What that poor little boy must have gone thru must have been terrible The police are totally useless aswell If they would of acted when told about it earlier that little boy would now be looking forward to Christmas | |

| Has anybody else noticed the trend in these dog attacks Its never the owner that is in the house when the attack happens They are usually out partying while granny is at home with the kids and dogs and the dog usually belongs to some bloody uncle who parades in front of the house with f**king flowers the next day | |

| It makes me sick, it seems like the police know these dogs are there but leave them until something goes wrong, usually the death of a child.
I'm not a fan of the DDA but while this law exists, then it should be used, especially in cases where its obvious that the owners are irresponsible yet it only seems to apply to people who are responsible and know how to look after a dog. They just seem to allow the scumbags to keep them, like the drug addicts near me, dirty scumbags dont have control of themselves, nevermind three "types" they have that go around attacking peoples dogs and scaring people into not using the local park when its sunny.
