| think u need to change vets karen PTS for septisemia ? Xena took that with last litter pups werent using one teat that got infected . we took her to emergency vet that night when it swelled up she got 2 injections and had to go to own vet next morning . put on course of antibiotics. Told that it would burst open but not to worry it looked like someone cut it with a knife at fisrt and started leaking about an hour later it burst wide open when we went back he said it had already started healing and NOT TO STOP her licking it as she was removing dead skin around wound which would speed up healing. You could have put your fist in hole 1st week but 3 weeks later was size of 10p coin completly healed after 4.5 weeks skin was tight round wound for another couple of weeks now only small scar and he said would be no problem to have another litter if we wanted, although we have had a few people asking for us to breed her again because of pups she has produced but she will not be bred again | |

| Karen we were also told not to stop pups feeding on other teats as she had to much milk yet so we had to take her away from pups as we had to be there when she was feeding them so i could cover the injured one with my had to prevent pups trying to suckle it . the OH would not do this she said i would be better at it cant understand why :2445: | |

| can u ask to see one vet when i go to ours i always see the practice partner even when i walk in they say Ian is busy i just wait and when Xena had they above problem he made all appointment so he would be on as he wanted to see how thing went and didnt want to rely on what the other vets were telling him Only time i see one of the others is if just up to get boosters done no point in waiting for Ian just to get an injection. Sorry about Roxy i was just a bit suprised when u said she had to be PTS for that condition and i know u would have done all u could for her  | |
