Mimi has a limp. Shes had it for a couple of days but its not stopped her doing anything. Its really bad tonight, shes hobbling everywhere but we cant find anything wrong with her, we can squeeze it and move it without it bothering her etc. Its in her front right leg and seems to be coming from her shoulder.

Dunno what shes done to it but shes going tomorrow teatime to the vets

Thats what we thought at first Mimi 729386

She had a slight limp around 8 months, just before her first season actually and shes due anytime now 🤔 🤔 but by the time she got an appointment, it went and didnt come back until now.

Its really odd cos it doesnt seem to be bothering her at all, shes playing, shes eating, shes exactly like normal but with a small limp, except tonight it seems loads worse even though shes her normal self still.

Poor girl, will let you know what they say tomorrow

Will do. Thats what I'm hoping it is Ems. I'm fairly sure she hasnt damaged herself and she did have it before. Wondered if its linked in with hormones and growth, she has just got a bit taller too

Misty had this Paula, once at about 9 mths and than again about 18 mths, so did her brother, vet said nothing wrong just the growing stuff E.J posted on.

It went away just as it came. Was always worse when getting up from sleeping.

Awww thank you ladies

Weve just got back and she was such a good girl, stood there really nicely while he moved her leg about for about 10 mins.

He cant find anything wrong and put her on rest and 50mg of carprofen (painkillers) twice a day for a week. Shes got to go back in a week and see how it is and if shes not better, they want to xray etc.

Hopefully she clears up nicely.

I mentioned growing pains and that thing GSD's can get which makes them limp but he says shes too old (which according to online sites, she isnt but you know) so its just wait and see

 poor Mimi, am glad the vet thinks she's ok P

Tilly has a very bad back leg, but it's only bad after excersice, she doesnt put it down until the next day, but she got run over when she was about a year old and broke it. apart from that she's fine, it doesnt affect her at all when she's out.

as Mimi has never broken her leg i'm sure it's prob something and nothing.

Like I said on FB our last GSD, Jazz, had something very similar as a youngster and our vet said it was growing pains. Restricted exercise and he was fine in the end
