Birmingham man jailed for training dangerous dog to fight Mar 6 2009 A Birmingham man has been jailed for keeping a dangerous dog and training it to fight.

Hussain, 37, from Bevington Road, Aston was found guilty of two charges
of possessing a dangerous dog and two charges of training an animal in
connection with fighting.
RSPCA officers found two pit bull
terriers with old scaring on their faces and legs in the back garden of
Hussain's property in March 2008.
Sentencing Hussain at
Birmingham Magistrates' Court, District judge Shamin Qureshi said: "If
you want to go out and torture innocent animals then you can expect to
go to prison.
"Dog fighting is so prevalent in Birmingham I have to make an example of you."
The judge also ordered that both dogs be destroyed.
Hussain was sentenced to 18 days in prison, and banned from keeping animals for life.
