| For those who havent read this on facebook about Marley Marley was a bit wobbly on his back legs on Friday and when I was giving him his antibiotics he sat but fell over twice. I text Ed to let him know my concern ( he was at work) On Saturday morning he seemed ok but from mid day he went downhill rapidly he was struggling to walk sit and lie down his back legs just kept giving way and when he was walking his back was arching really high. we rang the emergency vet who said the arched back was a sign of extreme pain and to get him there as soon as we could. We had to ring back as we couldnt get Marley to walk they said to put a towel underneath him to support his legs which we did and it took 15 mins to get him from the living room to the car. Ed lifted him into the car. When we got to the vets the nurse came to the door and saw how he was struggling. His temperature was raised, bloods were taken but have shown nothing really. The vet suggested arthritis but surely there would have been some signs not just 1 day fine next day not. The vet gave us the choice to leave him there to be put on a drip overnight or take him home with anti inflammatorys to see how he got on but with open access to take him back should he deteriorate . No way was I leaving him there!! I was absolutely heartbroken to see him like this but we would look after him! I didnt want to put him under any further stress by leaving him. he didnt know the vet or the staff. Ed slept on the sofa on Saturday night On Sunday at one point both me and Ed were in tears he was struggling so much. It was heartbreaking to see him like this His brain was active wanting to play etc but his legs just wouldnt function he was trying so hard to make them move it was so distressing to watch. we talked that we would take him to see Neil but in our hearts if Marley was still as bad as this we almost certainly wouldnt be bringing him home it would be no life for him and I couldnt watch him suffer like that. I slept downstairs on Sunday night as Ed was at work Got up Monday morning and the anti inflammatorys must have kicked in and he was standing up and steadier on his feet. Took him to see Neil and immediately Neil asked about the fall from the bridge steps that Marley had on holiday. Neil checked him over and every joint is sore and swollen. Neil is 100% certain its delayed reaction from the fall along with internal bruising. He upped the dose of anti inflammatory tablets and put him on glucosomine We have to take him back to see Neil on Friday. Marley is tons better but still is having bouts of unsteadiness but is gobby so is definitely on the mend. | |

| I will do Bren. He is getting steadier on his feet. He is on 2 anti inflammatory tablets a day plus 4 glucosamine a day. He is still licking his legs but he is wanting to play and is getting peed off as there's no running about just gentle lead walks for a while. I really thought we were going to lose him but thank god he picked up on Monday morning. | |

| he's been back to see Neil tonight and he is very happy with Marleys progress. On Monday Marley yelped and cried at every joint neil touched tonight it was only his left back leg on the side that Marley landed on after his fall. He has given him another 3 weeks of anti inflammatory tablets and hopefully after that he should be ok | |
