PostSubject: Very sad day   Tue Oct 25, 2011 2:37 pm

A woman who I often used to walk the dogs with has been ill, I rang today to find out how she was, her husband answered and said that they had found a tumor and it was un-operable, its in the stomach, I thought that cancer of the stomach was more likely to be operable? Why is it do you think they cant operate on her? My husband thinks it could be that the tumor is to big?
I'm confused, and would love to hear some positive answers to this, anyone know anything regarding this, I would say she is only in her 50's

Sorry to hear about your friend Sandra. There are so many different types of tumors
hun,so its hard to say why hers is inoperable. My husband died of a brain tumor and
they couldnt operate because of where it was situated. He had radiotherapy to try
and shrink it to buy him more time but he only lived for 4 months after diagnosis.
My brother has a tumor on his lung and was gonna have his lung removed to give him the best chance of survival but when they opened him up they discovered the tumor
was too near his heart so couldnt remove it.He has had a lot of chemo and radiotherapy and it has shrunk a bit but we know its only a matter of time.My dad passed away last year of Prostate cancer which was treatable in the beginning but
again it got to the stage where there was nothing more they could do. Theres hardly
a week goes by without hearing of cancer affecting someone, its a truely horrible
disease.Anyway,i hope that your friend can have some teatment at least and maybe she can have a little while longer.

So sorry to hear about your friend hopefully she can have some other treatment that will buy her more quality time with her family 50 is no age

With all the money pumped into cancer research you would think they would come up with some affordable cures
I hate reading about all the new drugs they have to stop or slow down cancer that they wont prescribe to Mr or Mrs average because of the cost How heartbreaking must that be

im so sorry to hear about your friend sandra

My father in law was diagnosed with oesophagus cancer, his oesophagus was removed together with half his stomach, he didnt have any other option in this instance. Fingers crossed he has been cancer free for two years now.

I wish they could operate on your friend, but i hope that they can help her some other way.

i lost both my parents to cancer , my mum had it in her spine went from dancing one day to hospital the next , we were told she had 48 hrs to live but we brought her home and she lived just short of 5 yrs , my dad died of bowel cancer and that happened within weeks of him falling ill, it is a wicked disease and maybe it just too progressed for them to operate , it just proves you should enjoy life to the full , love everyday that you are free from illness
