| If you have Metacam in the house, give a dose of that to take away the discomfort. As far as anything else goes, main advise is to let it heal on its own. All the Vet will do is Xray and maybe either wrap it up or cast it which, if your dog is a chewer could cause further damage to the already broken toe as they tend to gnaw at it until its either soggy or the wrappings/cast is off!
I would take your dog to the Vet just to clarify what is actually wrong and to see if there is any other damage but there isn't much else they can do......if you haven't got Metacam, then get some from your Vet. Buy the 100ml bottle as it always comes in handy! Try to keep your dog off its feet if possible (easier said than done - I know)
What digit is it which you think may be broken?
Hope everything turns out ok for your dog. |

Once you have been to your Vets for clarification and Metacam put a sock onto the foot just for a wee bit of support, but keep an eye on the response for chewing or worrying! Good luck |

| if it is broken they will usually prescribe painkillers and plenty of rest, but if it causes problems in the future, they will sometimes amputate as some dogs can become really lame and can be a re occuring problem | |
