PostSubject: Re: Suzie and Jude   Sun Dec 14, 2014 9:18 pm

so sorry I havent been about I have been on facebook but as you say posted nothing personal. Ive sort of avoided being on here because things arent great. I know you are all very supportive and for that I thank you but Im just finding talking about this so hard. mam has gone downhill from about 6 weeks ago and has had 3 falls as she can hardly walk and yesterday had another. my dad couldnt lift her and had to get 2 neighbours to lift her. Mam is now in hospital to be assessed and we have been asked the awful question do we let medics intervene or make comfortable as the cancer is now progressing quickly.

Im furious at the moment as we have had no support at all. my dad has been struggling for weeks getting her out of bed dressing her trying to get her showered.....she has no zimmer frame no wheel chair no bathing aids no one keeping an eye on her. last time she saw the oncologist she was told the nurse specialists would be keeping an eye on her yeah right that was June no one has even been in touch!! She should be seen every 3 months from her bowel operation last appt was July!!! I went off it last night bearing in mind I see these people every day at work. Im so bitter and angry at the moment. I just find talking about it very difficult. Im praying nothing happens before Christmas I know that sounds so selfish

Awww Jude i had a horrible feeling something had happened
Im so sorry to hear your mum is in hospital   I can imagine how disgusted and angry you feel by the way she has been left to fend for herself  without the promised help
The NHS is just becoming a joke the way seriously ill people are being treated
She will pick up now she is in hospital and nothing happens before the New year
We are all thinking of you and your mum and dad at this sad time

Jude, so sorry to hear this hun, it's heartbreaking, it's true we are here for you and do love you but fully understand if you do not want to talk about things.

Your poor Mum and Dad going through this is awful, as I said in Shelley thread, life can be so cruel.

Let it out hun, if the NHS are letting your mum down, lay into them, what is wrong with them, people who pay into the system all their lives are mainly the ones let down.

My heart goes out to you and your parents...sending love

just an update. Mam has picked up a bit. she has had 3 lots of antibiotocs which have been given intravenously because she has had an infection that she must have had for months. She is looking a lot brighter today

she has been seen by physiotherapists who have been helping her with walking aids and she has been seen by an occupational therapist who is arranging all sorts of aids to help mam also arranging someone to come in 3 times a week to help her bathe. With a bit of luck she might get home on Friday

not good Sandra. Dad had to get the doctor into her today. She is starting to refuse to take her medication and she has taken an instant dislike to the person coming in to get her up and dressed

I couldnt get any sense out of her yesterday
